Description
Hojicha tea is a unique blend of herbal tea by-products. Hojicha tea contains less caffeine than most other green tea for two key reasons. First, roasting improves the chemical components of the tea and theoretically reduces the amount of caffeine. Second, the most popular source of Hojicha tea is rendered with more mature tea leaves plucked mid-season. The leaves contain less caffeine than the first or second wave of young tea leaves.
This roasted herbal tea is a vibrant, bold drink with a sweet, pungent fragrance. Intense aromas of toasted coffee bean and brown sugar, vanilla and caramel flavours explode into the scene, leaving the mouth with a creamy, mellow and light body feel.
STEEPING INSTRUCTION
We believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started. When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. To prepare a superior cup of Green Tea use one spoon(2-3 g.) of tea steep for 2 to 3 minutes in water heated to not-quite-boiling, just as bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan (approximately 80-85'C). Try not to steep your tea longer than necessary, as you’ll extract undesirable bitterness from the leaves. If you want a stronger brew, don’t steep longer, just use more tea.
